1.1 Shared Vision
Candidates facilitate the development and implementation of a shared vision for the use of technology in teaching, learning, and leadership.
Artifact: Technology Vision
Reflection:
The technology vision is a word document that answers the questions: How should technology be used to enhance students learning and why? This document was created with my school's mission, vision and school improvement goals in mind.
This artifact demonstrates mastery of standard 1.1 in that I was able to create a plan for technology use in my school. The technology vision includes use of technology in teaching, learning and leadership. This vision includes research-based practices in successfully integrating technology in a school system.
Completing my technology vision gave me the chance to research best practices in not only technology use but in teaching as well. I found that creating a vision is one of the most important steps as it serves as a guide to accomplish the smaller goals in the whole picture of technology use. I realized how much planning and collaboration goes into technology planning. Creating a vision and setting goals are key components in developing a technology plan. To improve my technology vision, I would include information on ways to ensure faculty and staff are on board and support the vision of the school system.
Creating a technology vision gave me the opportunity to see where I stand on technology integration. I was able to learn best practices for teaching with technology and further understand the roles of students and teachers in the regular classroom. Completing this vision gave me valuable information that I could immediately take back to the workplace and implement in my classroom. The technology vision can be assessed by surveying faculty once a year to see changes and improvements needed in the technology vision. Administrators can also observe the school’s technology vision in the classroom.
