Artifact: Technology Survey
Reflection:
The technology survey was created to assess where teachers in my school are in integrating technology in the classroom. This survey was created to aid me in the completion of my school's Current Reality Report using the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threat (SWOT) template.
This artifact demonstrates mastery of standard 2.7 as I created the survey specifically for my school using the online program, Survey Monkey. The survey was administered to the entire faculty at Cartersville Middle School to see how teachers feel about technology use, its importance to their subject area, personal skill level and the kinds of professional developments needed regarding technology use.
In completing this survey, I learned that it is important to keep surveys short and to be careful in the types of questions asked. It is important to get the most out of a survey without being too lengthy. I had to carefully choose questions to ask to get the most information possible for the data I needed to collect. I would improve this survey by creating it in Google instead of Survey Monkey as I would have my documents and data all in one location. It was nice to learn about Survey Monkey but it is an extra site to go to in order to collect data. I feel that Google would be more user friendly for my situation.
This survey impacts school improvement as it guides the school in planning technology related professional development throughout the year. The survey can be given every year to assess where teachers are and make changes for improvement.
